FREE Summer Kayak Camp for Kids (July 18-20)
This summer, Nugget Slalom Club will be hosting a FREE multi-day camp teaching your kids everything they need to know about slalom kayaking technique and river safety! The camp will be coached by Ron Lugbil, a former slalom gold medalist hailing from The Great Colorado. Sign up FAST before it fills up!

Who We Are
Nugget Slalom is a community enterprise founded by a group of kayakers in the South Fork American River area. The founders' goal was to revive the art of kayak slalom among young, up-and-coming kayakers. We meet regularly at the Nugget, on the South Fork American River just above Chili Bar, to train together on our unique slalom course. It is currently the only permanent slalom course in California.
Our Accomplishments
Our Accomplishments
Some of the young kayakers who have trained at the Nugget have gone on to become U.S. National Team members and have raced in international events. Our coordinators have also organized the Moke Races, a local event that consists of a downriver race and a slalom race on the Mokelumne River and brings together kayakers of all ages and abilities for two days of whitewater and fun!
